Brief: To help the new owners free this rather tired and dated 1960's B&B from it’s time warp prison overlooking the spectacular Jurassic coastline of Chesil Beach in Dorset.

Insensitive and short-term additions had all but obscured the simple and classic character at the heart of this building. It’s spirit more akin to the handsome old houses to be found along the rugged coastlines of New England with deep slate mansard roofs suggesting a timeless weather worn romance. As an ongoing business the challenge was to develop a room design that could be rolled out on a staged build programme. The result was a clean, understated and simple formula redolent of those cosy houses in Maine that just scream ‘old fashioned holiday!’. Whilst the basic hard finishes were designed to be repeated, variety and interest were allowed for in subtle changes to the soft furnishings for each room.
As each room has new life breathed into it so it welcomes a new wave of happy holidaymakers and is well on the way to becoming a bit of a beach babe itself!
