Brief: To unlock the potential of this beautiful Victorian house perched on top of one of the most jaw droppingly beautiful views on the south coast of England.

The spirit of this house had slowly extinguished over many years and layers of neglect and short term botching. It's architectural provenance all but lost to the naked eye it was in serious need of rescuing! It became clear that only a complete refurbishment of the interior would do justice to the skills of it's original builders. Along the way we unearthed many original features including, the original porch complete with arch and keystone, fireplaces, tile flooring, cornicing etc. With each layer peeled back the house would breath a sigh of relief and would then let us know what it needed next. Eschewing the traditional English seaside colours we opted for a more neutral, bleached and scrubbed back palette to enhance the rather elegant, almost colonial, lines of the house. Any new features added were all reclaimed and 'lived in' and brought with them their own story to add to the tale of this very special place.
